Microsoft’s SAM Optimization Model

Microsoft has developed a framework aligned with Infrastructure Optimization (IO) which allows customers to evaluate SAM practices effectively. SOM leverages existing industry frameworks (IO, ITIL, ISO 19770-1 and Microsoft Operations Framework). Customers can use the Optimization model to accurately evaluate SAM processes, policies and tools and it provides the framework necessary to improve the management of software assets and the investments customers make in them.

The Microsoft SAM Optimization Model is a useful guide for organisations wishing to gauge their completeness of their SAM processes.
